How do I scale Z-axis?

The distance of the object to the observer governs the apparent size of the object. But the 3D effect is given by the offset of the image for the right eye and the image for the left eye. This can be figured by trigonometry. The baseline for the two viewpoints is the distance between normal adult human eyes, about 67mm.
