Should I tell him I was going to kiss him?

Okay, so I finally met this guy who I had been talking to for weeks.We were on his couch for like 5 hours watching movies. He had his arm wrapped around me, we were sharing a blanket, and our legs were intertwined. He was rubbing my hair,my back, and my hand. He started touchinng my face abd he was finally starting to rub my lips a little bit. I really like the guy and everything was going well. it was 2:30 a.m. when he was doing this. I decided that I was gonna kiss him, but he kinda fell asleep before I had the chance to. Should I tell him of my intentions so that he doesn`t think things were going wrong? I plan on kissing him this friday at my party.
