What is the "liberal agenda" behind global warming?

I have heard conservatives spout this time and time again, but have yet to hear what 1) their actual agenda is, 2) how they would benefit from said agenda, or 3) even if there is an 'agenda' would learning to reduce emissions and not rely on foreign fuels be all that bad? Just a question...
