Is it possible to cover a shade with wallpaper?

Is it possible to cover a shade with wallpaper? Will the shade be too slick for adhesive to adhere to? I found some wall paper that would look great with my window treatments. Any ideas of how to use it. My only thought was to cover a shade with it.
