I have a cold water tank with 4 fantails,can i get a cold water scavenger fish to help out with the algae?

i have recently been told to give them frozen brine shrimp to vary their diet, and i think this has increased the algae contibution to the tank, they love the shrimps so i dont really want to stop giving it to them. any brain wave solutions for my lovely fishes, laura, splash munch and bruises??
