How would you rate Jim McMahon as a quarterback?

Obviously, the '85 Bears are remembered for the defense - but how was their quarterback? I think his stats are not very impressive... would you consider him "good" or "average"? I know he was injured a lot... but was he talented? Would you go as far to say he compares with Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson in wining Super Bowl quarterbacks?
