Cheap airfares for last minute travel?

I have recently been bitten by the travel bug and have a question about airfares. What is the best way to get cheap airfares? I am open for spur of the moment travel plans, so if there is a website or service that does last minute cheap airfares please let me know. I appreciate any responses to this question.
